What does Board Certified mean?
A board-certified surgeon is required to complete years of additional training after receiving the medical doctor degree and then successfully complete a rigorous examination. This training involves learning how to evaluate a patient's medical condition and surgical needs.

What is minimally invasive surgery?
Minimally invasive surgery is performed through small incisions into which a camera called a laparoscope is inserted. During surgery, the surgeon views images transmitted by the camera, enabling him to diagnose and perform surgery through the small incisions.

What are the benefits of minimally invasive surgery?
Because of the smaller incisions involved in minimally invasive surgery, the benefits include: quicker recovery time, shorter hospital stay, less pain, less scarring, less likelihood of complications related to the incision, and an earlier return to full activity.
